PESHAWAR, July 31: NWFP Chief Minister Muhammad Akram Khan Durrani met NWFP Governor Lt-Gen Ali Muhammad Jan Aurakzai at the Governor's House here on Tuesday and discussed matters relating to law and order situation in the province.
It was noted during the meeting that law-enforcement agencies, especially the police force and the Frontier Constabulary, needed to be strengthened to ensure complete safety and security to the life and property of the people.
Progress on provision of equipment and additional resources to police was also reviewed.
It was re-affirmed during the meeting that no effort would be spared to maintain a peaceful atmosphere in the province.
Speaking on the occasion, the governor said that till the recruitment of more men for police and the Frontier Constabulary, the government had to be very alert to avert any untoward incident and to maintain law and order in the province.
The chief minister apprised the governor of the initiatives of the provincial government to involve people’s representatives for maintaining peace and harmony in the province.—PPI
