Faulty sewerage

MULTAN, July 29: Residents of Mehboobabad Union Counsel 32 held a demonstration against Wasa and their nazim on Sunday for their failure to keep the sewerage system in order.

Protesters alleged that UC nazim Haji Shabir Ansari and his deputy Haji Mushtaq Ansari did not taking interest in solving their problems.

They said they had visited District Nazim Mian Faisal Mukhtar and Wasa authorities several times for the disposal of sewage from their area but nothing had been done so far.

fertiliser: About 6,000 bags of substandard fertiliser were seized and two employees were arrested during a raid by the district agriculture department (extension) and police on a fertiliser factory here on Saturday.

The district agriculture officer (extension) said that police and agriculture department officials seized 6,000 bags of substandard zinc sulphate during a raid on Easy Pharma (Agro Division) on Shujaabad Road and arrested factory staff Mushtaq and Javed.

He said factory owners Mian Aslam and Dr Ashraf had fled. He said the factory was raided after a chemical examination of fertiliser samples taken some days ago.
