LARKANA, July 29: Sindh Chief Minister Dr. Arbab Ghulam Rahim on Saturday paid a surprise visit to the examination centre at Numaish ground where written test of candidates belonging to Jacobabad district for the recruitment as Primary School Teachers (PSTs) was underway.

The test was jointly conducted by the Management of Cadet College Larkana (CCL), IBA and Sindh Education Department.

Talking to journalists during his visit, the CM said that written test was the basic requirement for recruitment to the post of the Primary School Teacher (PST).

Dr. Arbab also said that the purpose of his visit was to personally see the process of the recruitment test for PST.

Education plays an important role for the development and reforming the society, he said and added that the candidates who have qualified the written tests have the knowledge of their subjects according to their qualification.

The chief minister said his promise with the people of Sindh in respect of recruitment of PSTs, would now be materialised when educated candidates selected on merit would be appointed to deliver the goods to the society through the profession of teaching.

Dr Rahim said 130,000 candidates were appearing at different centres in the province while 4,200 candidates were appearing for the post of PST in Jacobabad.

The chief minister said that he would be satisfied to see the educated youth joining as PSTs.

He also said that the education department was functioning under his supervision and it was “our responsibility to check and recruit qualified youths in the Sindh Education Department”.

Replying a question the Sindh chief minister said that the law and order situation in the province was under control and with the grace of Almighty Allah no untoward incident occurred in whole of the province.—APP
