NAWABSHAH, July 29: A councillor died in mysterious conditions here on Sunday.

Badar Mallah, 32, a member of Nawabshah union council-2, belonging to People’s Party Parliamentarians-backed Awam Dost Panel, was brought to the Nawabshah Medical College hospital in critical condition with a wound caused by a bullet.

He was referred to Karachi due to non-functioning of CT scan machine in the local hospital. However, he died before reaching Karachi and his body was brought back to the NMCH for post-mortem.

Brother of deceased, Basharat Mallah, who is the SHO of the Alibi police, alleged that his brother had been killed by his wife Mehta with the help of her family members.

He said that deceased's wife told neighbours that Badar had committed suicide and as they were taking him to hospital, she and other family members escaped.

Dr Amanullah Bhangwar, after conducting post-mortem, told journalists that it seemed to be a murder case.
