LAHORE, March 9: Rain was reported from several cities of the northern Punjab, the NWFP and Northern Areas on Saturday.

In Lahore, intermittent light rain which started during the early hours of the day, continued till late in the afternoon. It reduced the day’s maximum temperature from Friday’s 24.5 degrees C to 21.2 degrees. The minimum temperature was 15.8 degrees which the local Met office hoped would drop during the night.

The humidity was 80 per cent in the morning and 70 per cent in the evening.

The Met office recorded 3mm of rain at the airport and 4mm at its Jail Road observatory. It recorded 21mm rain in Peshawar, 8mm in Rawalpindi, 12mm in Islamabad, 4mm in Sialkot, 7mm in Jhelum, 19mm in Balakot, 10mm in Kakul, 16mm in Muzaffarabad, 23mm in Saidu Sharif, 3mm in Astore, 36mm in Dir, 8mm in Chitral and 20mm in Murree.

The Met office has forecast more rain in the Punjab, including Lahore, the NWFP and Northern Areas during the next 24 hours.
