PESHAWAR, March 9: Criticizing the government for not honouring its commitment, NWFP chief of the Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) has demanded 33 per cent women’s representation in provincial and national assemblies.

PTI provincial President Nawabzada Mohsin Ali was talking to newsmen at party office here after the postponement PTI convention, to be held at Shahi Bagh Peshawar on Saturday, owing to heavy rains.

Jamiama Khan, wife of PTI President Imran Khan, was also scheduled to address the convention for the first time. Now the convention would be held on April 7 at the same venue, he added.

The president said the government had announced to give 33 per cent representation to women in local bodies, national and provincial assemblies, but it fulfilled its promise only in the local bodies polls taking back the decision for general elections.

He stressed the government to increase women’s representations in parliament, and reduce age for electors from 21 to 18 years. Appreciating the graduation condition for both provincial and national assemblies’ members, he said that only an educated parliamentarian could better represent their constituencies’ problem.
