QUETTA, July 26: Traders in the provincial capital observed a strike and the transporters blocked the National Highway at two points suspending traffic on Thursday. The strike was observed to protest against the non-provision of facilities at the new bus stand in Hazarganji and irregularities in the allotment of plots to transporters and traders by the Quetta Development Authority.

All main bazaars, shopping centres and business establishments remained closed on the Jinnah Road, Shahrah-i-Iqbal, Liaquat Bazaar, Prince Road, Surajganj Bazaar, Mission Road, Zarghoon Road and Satellite Town on the call of the Muttahida Transport and Traders Action Committee.

The protestors blocked the National Highway at Lakpass and Kolpur.
