GILGIT, July 25: Leader of the Grand Peace Jirga for Central and Moti mosques of Gilgit Nisar Wali Khan has said that wall chalking against the army and the placement of a hand grenade in the Central Mosque was mischievous.

According to a press statement issued here, Mr Khan said that Ahle Sunnah Mosque Peace Jirga held its meeting and found the law and order situation in Gilgit to be satisfactory.

The statement said that the people of Northern Areas were loyal to Pakistan and respected its armed forces, adding that it would thwart designs of elements who were trying to instigate riots.

It urged local administration to identify and punish people responsible for it.—Correspondent
