One killed in roof collapse

LAHORE, July 24: A man was killed and two injured in a roof collapse in Yakki Gate on Tuesday. The Edhi officials said the dilapidated ‘haveli’ of one Jehangir Gujar caved in, leaving him dead and his son Siddique and a passerby, Ameer, injured.

According to the police, rains had badly damaged the already shabby roof, which collapsed on Tuesday.

Rescuers evacuated the injured from the debris and rushed them to hospital.

ACCIDENT: A 25-year-old youth was killed in a road accident in Chuhng on Tuesday.

The Edhi officials said Nawaz of Muslim Park, Shahdara, was on his way on a bike (LWC-1624) when a speeding truck (CLB-245) hit him. He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

A train passenger died when his head collided with an electric pole in City Raiwind on Tuesday.

Police said Sabihuddin, a resident of Multan, took his head out of the moving train when it collided with an electric pole.
