Railway line blown up

QUETTA, July 22: Rail traffic remained suspended for several hours on Sunday after the main railway line, linking Quetta with rest of the country, was blown up in the New Sariab area.

According to police, the explosive device was planted under the railway line.

The Quetta-bound passenger trains coming from Rawalpindi and Karachi were stopped at various stations.

Railway authorities said that the train service was restored around 12 noon.

Meanwhile, a hand grenade was hurled into the house of one Mohammad Rafiq in the Mano Jan Road area late Saturday night. No casualty was reported.

Meanwhile, law-enforcemnt agencies arrested 12 Afghan nationals from the Nokundi area in Chagai district on Sunday. These Afghans had illegally crossed into Pakistani territory without any travel documents.
