KARACHI, July 21: Seven ships carrying containers and to load cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Emirates Meru, Soonfu to unload and load containers, Golina, to load cement and Chemrock Venus, to load ethanol were berthed after the departure of three.

The ships, which departed included Eric G. Gibson, Hyundai Highway and Hansa Stavanger, while Blue Seas, B. Europa, Shamrock Venus, Champion Aretic, Lalalzar, Grand Hero, Industrial Dawn, Soon Fu, Cosco Shekou and Hayley Nadhi are due to sail out on Sunday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 0.108m tons comprising 30,440 tons of export cargo and 77,491 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Sunday: Hayley Nadhi, Cosco Shekou, Marina Star-1, Victory-1 with containers, Tarpon Santiago with 16,500 tons of DAP fertiliser, Bulk Arrow, and Al-Wakra to load 17,500 and 5,000 tons of cement respectively.

The following ships are due on Monday: Sunniva to load ethanol, Betatank-2 to load naphtha, Stolt Ami with chemicals, Kama Bhum, Tower Bridge, Mol Admiration, Oel Trust and Fac Aries with containers.
