UPPER DIR, July 20: Clerks went on strike in the Works & Services (W&S) department against the District Officer Revenue (DOR) for allegedly insulting and expelling a head clerk from a government residential quarter. The All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA), Dir Upper, had termed the action illegal and immoral and demanded that action be taken against the DOR.

APCA representatives alleged that the DOR barged into Hussainullah’s quarter and expelled him from there illegally.

APCA also alleged that the DOR planted his own pistol inside the quarter and instigated police to implicate Hussainullah in a criminal case for possessing illegal weapons.

The representatives said that even his medicines were confiscated due to which Hussainullah’s health deteriorated and had to be taken twice to a Islamabad hospital for treatment.

A delegation of the APCA, headed by its local chapter president, Nusrat Ghafoor, met the district nazim and district coordination officer, Dir Upper, and informed them of the alleged illegal action of the DOR.

The nazim and the DCO assured them that the matter would be resolved accordingly and the residential quarter would be re-allotted to Hussainullah.
