SIALKOT, July 18: The bomb disposal squad defused a high intensity mortar shell in the fields along the Sialkot working boundary on Wednesday. According to farmers, who found the 40-pound mortar shell in the Laiser-Shakargarh area, the explosive device was foreign made and rusting. It had been fired during the 1971 Pakistan-India war, but it was still alive.

Later, intelligence agencies started an operation in Shakargarh bordering villages in search for any other explosive devices, but they found no more.
