KARACHI, July 17: Zone-I Whites registered a nine-wicket win against Zone-IV Blues in the Woodward Trophy U-17 KCCA Inter-zonal cricket tournament at the Students Ground on Monday.

Batting first, Zone-IV Blues could only manage 72 before losing all their wickets. Farhan Anwar captured four wickets for 15. The scanty target was chased easily by Zone-I Whites who only lost one wicket. Only Umar Imtiaz (58 not out) had the chance to show his batting talent for the victors.

Earlier on Monday, District Lasbela defeated Zone-II Blues by one run at the TMC Ground. Lasbela District, batting first, scored 166 all out with Hanif (70) being the highest scorer. In reply, Zone-II Blues could reach 165 before losing all their wickets.

Meanwhile, Zone-III Blues trounced Zone-V Greens by 78 runs at the KCCA Stadium.

Sharjeel (65) helped Zone-III Blues accumulate a reasonable total of 201. Zone-III Blues bowlers restricted their opponents to 123 all out.—PPI
