KHAIRPUR, July 17: Employees of Scarp drainage division on Tuesday put locks on all the offices including the office of executive engineer for three hours and staged a procession in protest against kidnapping of two SDOs and a driver of the division.

SDO Manzoor Hussain Shah of Khairpur sub-division and SDO Ghulam Mujtaba Dhamra of Priyaloi sub-division and driver Sher Mohammad Rid were kidnapped a few days ago in Johi taluka.

The protesters later observed a token hunger strike outside the office of drainage division. Many residents of Wapda-Scarp Colony also joined the protest.

They said that the families of kidnapped employees were receiving calls from the kidnappers for huge ransom.

It had now been confirmed beyond that all the three officials had been kidnapped as their official jeep had been found in Larkana, they said. —BoC
