PESHAWAR, July 16: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Malakand, on Monday announced the matriculation results for 2006-07. According to a notification, Iftikhar Ahmad of the Naeem Public School Timergara secured the first position with 827 marks. Mohammad Azhar of the Jamal English Education Academy Chakdara secured the second position with 812 marks and Adnan Khan, from the same school, bagged the third position with 810 marks.
Private candidate Zahira Bibi topped in the arts group with 702 marks, while Qulsoom Ali of the Government Girls High School Malakand Agency secured second position with 699 marks and Asma Hameed of the Government Girls Centennial Model School Timergara secured the third position with 689 marks.
According to the notification, a total of 21,485 candidates appeared in the examinations, of which 13,412 turned out to be successful, showing a pass percentage of 62.42 per cent.
In the science group, 10,825 candidates took the examinations, of which 8,248 turned out to be successful, showing a pass percentage of 75.70 per cent. In the arts group, 10,590 candidates appeared of which 5,165 turned out to be successful.—APP
