WANA, March 8: Fifteen people travelling in a pick-up   were blown up on Thursday when US warplanes attacked Taliban and Al Qaeda positions in the Landai Doag region of Afghanistan’s Paktika province, seven kilometres from Angoor Adda, South Waziristan agency, according to sources.

All the dead were members of the Kharoti tribe living in the southeastern region of Afghanistan.

The sources said the Kharoti tribesmen were travelling in two vehicles to the mausoleum of a saint in the area when they came under bombardment.

One of the vehicles was hit and all the 15 people travelling in it were blown up.

The sources said it was the second airstrike by US aircraft in the Landai Doag and Shakin areas of the Paktika province.
