KARACHI, July 14: Spin duo of Syed Farooq and Israr-ul-Haq shared nine wickets between them to bowl Zone-I Whites to a commanding nine-wicket win over Zone-V Blues in the KCCA Inter-zonal Under-17 cricket tournament at the Student Ground on Friday.

Left-arm spinner Farooq captured five wickets for 23 while his leg- spinning team-mate Israr claimed four for 35 to dismiss Zone-V Blues for 98 in 28 overs. Irfan Ali showed some resistance on a turning track with 37.

Zone-I Whites romped home for the loss of just one wicket in the 12th over. Umair Imtiaz slammed 36 while Rameez Aziz made an unbeaten 30.

Meanwhile, at the TMC Ground, Zone-VI Blues outplayed Zone-II Greens by 113 runs, after batting first to amass 215 off 49.1 overs. Off-spinner Arsalan Khadim took 3-20 for the winners.
