RAHIM YAR KHAN, July 14: In an exemplary display of patriotism, a poor disabled man has made a commitment to cover a 900-kilometre distance on his tattered wheelchair to give a message of forging solidarity and promoting fraternity in the country.

Aslam Pervez Masih, who started his journey from Kunri in Umarkot district (Sindh) on June 16, reached Rahim Yar Khan on Saturday.

Speaking to this news agency, he resolved that he would now proceed towards Islamabad and reach there on Aug 14 after covering 900 kilometres.

He said he had no backing of any official or civil representative and his only aim was to see his country on path to prosperity. “Some people on the way did give me cash for my determination and sense of spirit and the money helped me meet travel expenses,” he added.—APP
