KARACHI, July 12: The third National Blind cricket tournament will be staged at the Asghar Ali Shah Stadium from Aug 8 to 12, the Karachi City Cricket Association of the Blind (KCCAB) announced on Thursday.

The KCCAB is holding the competition as part of Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations in collaboration with the Pakistan Cricket Association of the Blind (PCAB), the KCCAB spokesman Salman Elahi said.He added that six teams, divided into two groups, from across the country would take part in the championship.

Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore are drawn in pool ‘A’ while pool ‘B’ consists of Azad Kashmir, Faisalabad and hosts Karachi, who will defend their title in the competition.

Top two teams from each pool will qualify for the semi-finals. Matches in the league round will be twenty-overs-a-side affairs while the final will be of 40 overs.—APP
