‘Fact-finding mission’

Published July 11, 2007

LAHORE, July 10: The Supreme Court Bar Association has formed a `fact-finding mission’ to probe the Lal Masjid operation.

Speaking at a press conference here on Tuesday, SCBA office-bearers said the mission would include 24 lawyers and 13 journalists selected from across the country. They said many `innocent’ people had been killed in the operation due to flawed government strategy.

Those present at the press conference were vice-president Sahibzada Anwar Hamid, secretary Syed Zulfiqar Bokhari, media adviser Mohammad Azhar, Khwaja Tariq Sohail, Mian Yusuf and former LHCBA president Justice Fakhrun Nisa (retired). —Staff Reporter
