MULTAN, July 10: Students of Jamia Khairul Madaris took out a protest rally here on Tuesday against the Lal Masjid operation.

They blocked the road near the seminary for 90 minutes and threw traffic out of gear. Later, they marched from Jamia up to New Vegetable Market via Chungi 14 and Tee Chowk.

FAISALABAD: District Bar Association members stayed away from court proceedings on Tuesday to mourn the killing of `innocent’ people in the operation.

DBA president Tanvir Randhawa said that the lawyers’ action was not against the government as it had been trying to resolve the issue peacefully. He said all members were sad over the killings, specially of students.

GUJRANWALA: Talking to Dawn, MMA MNA Qazi Hamidullah and other religious leaders said that government was appeasing the US in a bid to wind up seminaries.

District bar president Ilyas Rehan alleged that government wanted to resolve all core issues by force which was harmful for the federation.
