MANSEHRA, July 10: Traders and shopkeepers observed a complete strike here on Tuesday in protest against imposition of the shutter tax by the Mansehra Tehsil Municipal Administration.

The call for the strike was given by the Central Anjuman Tajran.

All business centres and shops in the town and adjoining areas remained closed.

Hundreds of traders also took out a procession in Mansehra.

They marched on different roads and raised slogans against the government and the TMA.

They demanded that the shutter tax should immediately be withdrawn. Addressing a press conference, CAT president Mohammad Younas, Mohammad Saleem and other office-bearers of the organisation criticised the imposition of the shutter tax.

They said the TMA had failed to provide basic amenities to traders and residents of the town.
