ISLAMABAD, July 10: Twenty prominent textile exporters from Pakistan will participate in the ‘Material World’, the premier apparel, textiles and accessories event of the United States.

An official announcement of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan issued here said that the event would be held in New York from September 25 to 27. The TDAP is organising the national pavilion in collaboration with Pakistan’s consulate in New York.

The TDAP is currently in the process of selecting the exhibitors.

The Material World is an official event of American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA) and is endorsed by National Textile Association, Textile Distributors Association and American Apparel Producers Network.

The trade fair is held twice a year, once in Miami and once in New York. 16 Companies from Pakistan showcased their products in the Miami edition of the fair held in May this year, where Pakistan was given the status of the featured country.

The USA is the largest market of textile products in the world and is the largest buyer of Pakistani textiles. New York is the commercial hub of US and all the leading textiles brands and chain stores have their sourcing headquarters in the city.

The Material World is, therefore, being viewed by the TDAP as a focal point of its marketing strategy in US and it has been gradually increasing the size of Pakistan’s pavilion in this trade fair.

The fair showcases textiles, fabrics, yarn, accessories, garments and home furnishings.
