SIALKOT, July 7: A team of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday arrested two more human traffickers during a raid in the city. An FIA official said Raja Sultan alias Nasar and Yaseen of Sialkot city had been illegally sending people abroad, especially to European countries by extorting heavy amounts. The accused have been sent behind the bars.

A few days ago, the agency had arrested notorious human trafficker Muhammad Riaz from Sialkot city.

ENCOUNTER: A dacoit was killed while a constable sustained injuries in an encounter on Sialkot-Kingra Road early on Saturday.

Reports said two robbers were looting the people when a police patrol reached there. On seeing the police, the dacoits opened fire, injuring constable Muhammad Tariq. During a shootout, dacoit Ghulam Abbas of Talwara Mughalaan-Sialkot was killed on the spot while his accomplice managed his escape.

Police said Abbas was wanted in more than two dozen dacoity, theft and murder incidents.

The injured constable was admitted to hospital in a critical condition. Rangpura police have registered a case.

FLORAL WREATHS: A Pakistan Rangers contingent, led by high-ranking officials, laid floral wreaths on the grave of Naik Mubarik Husain here on Saturday at Jarpal-Shakaragarh.

They also offered Fateha for the eternal peace of the departed soul. Naik Mubarik Husain was martyred by the firing of Lal Masjid students in Islamabad.

Officials said the name of Jarpal village would be changed to Mubariknagar.
