KARACHI, July 5: The agriculture department of the Karachi city district government organised a free veterinary medical relief camp to provide medical facilities to the affected animals in the rain-hit areas of Gadap Town.

The city nazim, in his visit to Gadap Town to review the measures taken to deal with the situation, directed the veterinary (agriculture) department to provide free veterinary medicines for animals affected by the recent monsoon rains.

Gadap Town Nazim Ghulam Murtaza Baloch, along with the union council nazims, thanked the city nazim for organising the camp.

The veterinary camp at Gadap Town’s UC-3 was inaugurated by Union Nazim Badu Khan Jokhio. EDO Agriculture Dr Mohan Lal supervised the work for setting up of the medical relief camp, while free medicines were distributed among the owners of the animals.

Nearly 9,200 medicines for animals have been distributed among the owners of the affected animals in the first two days.

The EDO agriculture has also formed teams comprising veterinary officers of the livestock/animal husbandry department, agricultural group of offices and the Karachi city district government to provide medical facilities to animals in the affected areas.—PPI
