PARACHINAR, July 4: Miscreants attacked a convoy coming from Afghanistan in the Tari Mingal area in the Kurram Agency on Wednesday and political authorities arrested six Mingal tribesmen under the territorial responsibility clause of the Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR). Officials said that a group of tribal elders were coming back from Afghanistan’s Paktia province when miscreants blocked the road in Tari Mingal and opened fire on their vehicles damaging them.

The tribal elders went to Afghanistan to sign a peace agreement between the Turi tribe of the Kurram Agency and Jaji tribe in Paktia province. Under the bilateral agreement both tribes would safeguard each other’s interests and take joint action against militants in areas along the Pak-Afghan border.
