KOHAT, July 3: A paramilitary official and two other men, who had been kidnapped last week, were released here on Tuesday.

Izzat Ali of the Frontier Corps and Yaseen and Noor Jamal of North Waziristan were kidnapped from an area between Hangu and Kohat while they were returning from a shrine.

The kidnapping had caused tension between tribesmen of Orakzai Agency and Kachai area, who took positions against each other on Monday.

The Mishti tribe of Orakzai Agency demanded release of the men but the Kachai people denied involvement in the crime.

The Mishti tribe had detained two people of Kachai on Sunday.

The victims did not disclose the identity of the kidnappers.
