KARACHI, July 3: The Zahid Hussain/Akbar Hayat Khan duo were through to the 45-plus doubles final at the third National Seniors’ tennis championship, beating Ashraf Admani/Nadeem Hafeez in straight sets in the second semi-final on Tuesday.

Zahid/Akbar emerged 6-0, 6-2 triumphant and now meet Altaf Hussain/Shahid Hussain in the Wednesday’s final.

Meanwhile, second seed Azharuddin struggled to beat Hanif Habib 6-4, 7-5 on his way to the 45-plus singles final where he takes on top seed Tahir Gul in the title clash.

The event concludes on Wednesday with two finals on card.

45-plus doubles (semi-final): Zahid Hussain/Akbar Hayat Khan bt Ashraf Admani/Nadeem Hafeez 6-0, 6-2.

45-plus singles (semi-final): Azharuddin bt Hanif Habib 6-4, 7-5.
