SIALKOT, March 6: A man allegedly tried to kill his newly born daughter before throwing the ‘body’ near the Haider Park graveyard in Narowal city.

The wife of Muhammad Bashir, resident of Mohallah Sah Sudhar, reportedly gave birth to the child a few days ago.

Bashir told neighbours that he had handed over the newborn to an issueless friend, who took it to Karachi.

It later came out that while he had left the baby for dead the child had survived. An old lady had found and adopted her.

When confronted Bashir admitted that he had tried to kill the child saying he was “allergic to daughters.”

Bashir has three living children — a son and two daughters. Four of his children — a son and three daughters — are said to have died through neglect.

Bashir is reported to have fled.
