FAISALABAD, June 28: A man who allegedly killed a driver in a Tandlianwala mosque the other day escaped from Saddar police station lockup on Wednesday along with four others accused involved in heinous crimes.

Sources said the men who escaped from the lockup were involved in cases of murder, kidnap for ransom and dacoities. Officials said they escaped in the morning by making a ‘hole’ in the 18-inch wall of lockup.

Those fled were killer of driver Rab Nawaz, Iqbal, Fayyaz, Atif and Haq Nawaz.

DIG (operations) Aslam Tareen said a case has been registered against the SHO, duty officer, Moharrar and four constables. He said teams have been constituted to arrest the criminals.—Staff Correspondent
