Published June 28, 2007

ISLAMABAD, June 27: A man knocked at the door of Mohammad Amir Wasim’s house in Shah Faisal Colony, introduced himself as a cable technician but Waseem ended up being deprived of cash, gold ornaments and mobile phones, worth Rs22,000.

Mr Wasim said the man, carrying tools, including a screw driver and pliers, came to his house and informed him that a new booster had been installed in the area for better reception of satellite TV channels and said he would tune his television set.

He said the man was well aware about the terms about the satellite channels and equipment used in it. The phony cable technician looked at the cable wire and the television and changed its channels and in this connection went on the roof of the house too.
