ISLAMABAD, June 27: The government on Wednesday extended permission to import iron sheets via land route from India till December 2007. The decision was notified through an order issued here by the commerce ministry amending the Import Policy Order 2006.

Earlier, the import of iron sheets was allowed until March 31, 2007.

The sheets can only be used for exclusive use in the earthquake affected areas of NWFP and AJK.

This will be the third consecutive extension in the facility to make availability of the iron sheets for reconstruction in the quake’ affected areas.
