MITHI, June 26: Expressing concern over the provincial education department’s decision to conduct interviews of 126,126 candidates for the posts of primary teachers at 12 centres, the candidates from the remote villages of Chhachhro, Nagarparkar and Diplo talukas have demanded that the interviews be held at the district level.

Some candidates told this correspondent that the interviews were earlier conducted at taluka or district headquarters towns but now they would be held at only 12 centres in different parts of Sindh, adding that Cadet College Jam Nawaz Ali had been chosen as the centre for the candidates from Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar and Sanghar districts.

Rajoro Union Council Nazim Abdul Subhan Sodho said that it would be inconvenient for women candidates from remote border villages of Nagarparkar and Chhachhro to reach the Cadet College Jam Nawaz Ali in Sanghar for the interview.

Abu Bakar Sangrasi of Janjhi village said it took two days to travel from his village to the centre and he was unable to take his niece Ajimat, who was disabled and mother of an 11-month-old baby, for the interview.
