MINGORA, March 5: A mela for women was organized here at a hotel on Tuesday in connection with the NWFP’s hundred-year celebrations, wherein the womenfolk participated from across the Swat district. The women had arranged stalls of different items, including handicrafts, clothes, etc.

The wives of district Nazim Dr Mehboob-ur-Rehman and tehsil Nazim Rafiul Mulk Kamran Khan were chief guests on the occasion.

Aurat Foundation Swat’s Naseem Akhtar and Mrs Ghani Raziq also displayed banners and placards inscribed with slogans for the women rights.

It was demanded of the owners of different cosmetic factories to protect lives of women from dust and pollutions and provide them with masks, and medical facilities in case of any disease.
