LAKKI MARWAT, March 5: A team comprising officials of district administration raided the offices of Works and Sanitation Department and inspected the attendance record of staff.

The raid was conducted in the wake of growing public complaints that the Sanitation Department staff often came late and took slight interest in the work.

The team comprised DCO Faizullah Khan Khattak, Director Works and Sanitation Daud Khan Mehsud, officiating XEN Ahmad Nawaz Daud, XEN Public Works Noor Aslam and PA Ihsanullah.

The team inspected the attendance record and warned the erring staffers of strict action in case they didn’t shun the habit of coming late to office. They also warned of action against those employees who were found absent from their duties.

The government contractors present on the occasion requested the raiding party to arrange for the repair of rooms that were in bad conditions so that the Public Health Department staff might be shifted to the office of Works and Sanitation department.

It may be mentioned that after the merge of different department into Works and Sanitation, the Public Health Department has also become a part of this department. However, its office is situated three kilometres from the main office.

The team stressed the contractors not to use substandard material in developmental works otherwise their licences would be cancelled.

They said that development schemes worth Rs60 million were being implemented in the district.
