KHAIRPUR, March 5: Scores of citizens of Hallani, the border town of Khairpur district, staged a demonstration against Hesco officials here on Tuesday.

The protesters took out a protest procession which was also participated by the Citizen Ittehad, Hallani, JSQM, PPP activists and the shopkeepers association.

The procesionists staged a sit-in outside the press club and the UC office, Hallani.

The representatives of the protesters said that a couple of days ago the citizens had protested against Hesco officials because they had penalized the protestors by sending disconnection notices.

INJURED: Three unidentified armed men attacked a man, Atta Hussain Shaikh, with sticks and injured him at the old Bozdar Wada bus stand on Monday.

The injured was admitted to a hospital. The Bozdar Wada police have refused to register a case on the pretext of the jurisdiction.

CAMPAIGN: Polio drops were administered to children at 76 union councils of Khairpur district.

The campaign was inaugurated at a ceremony held at the Lady E. Wellington Hospital, Khairpur, by the executive district officer, health, while in Kot Diji, taluka Nazim Nawab Wassan inaugurated the campaign.

ROBBED: Some unknown armed men detained one head constable and snatched valuable goods from him on the Link Road, Ahmedpur, Khairpur, on Monday night.

Constable Imam Bux Panhwar was on his way to his village after purchasing goods and articles for his family.

ACCIDENT: Three men were injured in a road accident on Tuesday.

Two cars collided with each other near the Chondiko Nara taluka due to which Abdullah Shah of Chondiko along with his two friends, who were accompanying him, were seriously injured.

Both the friends Adeel Pathan and Abdul Shakoor Qureshi are residents of Karachi.

The injured have been admitted to a local hospital, where their condition is stated to be out of danger.
