KARACHI, June 22: General council of the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) meets in Lahore on June 30 to review the 30th National Games, held recently in Karachi, besides disposing of other matters on the agenda.

The POA has invited chairman organising committee of the 30th National Games, Qamar Mansoor, the Sindh Minister for Sports, and President of the Sindh Olympic Association (SOA) Fakir Syed Ayazuddin, for the meeting.

In an official communication, they have been asked to make it convenient to attend the meeting and apprise the house about the good points, difficulties, problems and bottlenecks which they experienced during the biennial games.

True, there were some shortcomings but Punjab has put all the blame of their dismal performance on Sindh which is ‘uncalled for’, the SOA president has said in a rejoinder to a statement of the Punjab Olympic Association official earlier this month.

The members of the POA tabulation committee, who spent luxurious one week in the city, failed to provide final medals table to media which requires an explanation from the POA hierarchy.
