TAXILA, June 22: An 11-year old boy who was abducted from Nawababad Wah Cantonment, 28 days ago was released after paying a ransom of Rs2.8 million.

According to police sources, some unknown persons abducted Adil Mehmood from Quaid-i-Azam Street, Nawababad, in the jurisdiction of the Wah Cantonment police when he was playing outside his house. The abductors contacted the boy’s father after 16 days of his abduction and demanded Rs8 million for his release. However, after negotiations, the ransom money was agreed at Rs2.8 million.—Correspondent
