KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait has condemned an assault on its diplomat in Iran. Describing it as an “attack on Kuwait”. It demanded an investigation into the incident.

The diplomat, Mohammad Al Zobi, was returning to the embassy on Tuesday when some unknown assailants attacked him.

Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Shaikh Dr Mohammad Al Salem Al Sabah has slammed the assault as a political act. “The assault on Mohammad Al Zobi is not an attack on a person but an attack on Kuwait” he said. Kuwait on Wednesday summoned the Iranian ambassador, Ali Jannati, and handed him an official protest note.
