HYDERABAD, June 18: The central organiser of the Jeay Sindh Mahaz (Bhutto), Haider Bhutto, said on Monday that the Mahaz, founded by G. M. Syed in 1972, was struggling for the emancipation of Sindhi people.

Addressing the party’s founding day celebrations at the local press club Mr Bhutto said that the party had a singular distinction that its first president was none other than G. M. Syed himself and it fought against mullahism and religious fanaticism, which was at its peak in those days.

He said that the party had introduced new political culture and trends in the nationalist politics and was the only political party, which performed the role of a university for political workers.

Mr Bhutto said that his party was against extortion, crimes and terrorism because it was following the ideology of G. M. Syed. Many nationalists who claimed to be spiritual followers of G. M. Syed had deviated from his ideology, he said.

JSM’s deputy organiser, Wahid Bux Vikio, said that Sindhi people had been reduced to slaves of the state and the party was fighting for putting an end to the slavery.

Among others, Dr Qayoom Rahimoon, Shams Shoro, Dr Zulfiqar, Sachal Awan advocate, Qaisar Khan Talpur and Dr Umer Chandio also spoke on the occasion.
