KARACHI: Workshop

KARACHI, June 18: A three-day training workshop on ‘Gender justice through Masalehat Anjumans’ started at the Municipal Training and Research Institute (MTRI) here on Monday.

As many as 63 people including UC nazims, naib nazims, chairman and members of Insaaf Committees/Masalehat Anjumans, women councillors and representatives of NGOs working in the social sector attended the workshop.

In his keynote address, Dr Sikandar Panhwar spoke about the composition and functions of Masalehat Anjumans in each UC under the present local government system.

Earlier, MTRI principal Mohammad Afzal Arain welcomed the guests. He also briefed about the role of the MTRI in the field of training local leaders and functionaries.-—PPI
