QUETTA, June 17: The Inspector-General of the Balochistan Police, Tariq Masood Khosa, has termed the killing of army personnel in a terrorist attack on Thursday a reaction to the arrest of two important members of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).

Addressing a press conference on Sunday, the IG said police had arrested two BLA members, Waheed Qambar and Sher Dil, who had prepared a plan to kill some students of the Khuzdar Engineering University who belonged to Punjab.

He said that there was proof of foreign involvement in the terrorist acts in Balochistan. However, he denied reports about the presence of Taliban in Balochistan.

The IG said that an action plan had been approved to control terrorist and subversive activities in Quetta and the other parts of the province. He said: “Under the plan new pickets would be established at all important places and police would be developed on modern lines.”
