KARACHI, June 17: Karachi Polo Club (KPC) playing under the name of Emaar, beat Equestrian Riding School (ERS) by three goals to two thanks to a sudden-death goal by Afsar Khan to win the Beach Polo Festival at the Sea View on Sunday.

Three chukker, each spread over seven minutes, were played in the final which was witnessed by a large crowd.

The first chukker ended in a stalemate as the two sides failed to score any goal.

Wakil Khan put ERS in front in the second chukker but the lead was short lived as Irfan Sheikh drew level for Emaar.

The third and last chukker also produced two goals. Afsar Khan surged Emaar (2-1) while Omer Syeed neutralised it.

Afsar Khan scored the decisive goal for Emaar in the sudden-death to settle the issue.

The final was supervised by Col Kamran of Malir Garrison Polo Club.

Emaar was represented by Waqas Manoo, Afsar Khan and Irfan Sheikh while Omar Syeed, Wakil Khan and Sami Mustafa represented ERS.—Correspondent
