NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, June 17: Four people were crushed to death and nine others sustained injuries when a truck rampaged through a goat market in Halani on Sunday after the driver lost control of the vehicle.

Reports reaching here said that the ten-wheeler truck which was carrying wheat bags barged into Bakra Piri after hitting a parked van.

Anwaruddin Shaikh, Aijaz Ali Brohi and Mohammad Hanif Khaskheli died on the spot while ten others suffered injuries.

Later, one of the injured Haji Juma Khan Chang died in hospital. Four goats were also killed in the accident.

The bodies and the injured were moved to Halani Rural Health Centre. Some of the injured were taken to Kandiaro. They were identified as Dhani Bux Jogi, Sajan Raun, Ayaz Ali Lashari, Shafi Mohammad Nagour, Mohammad Ramzan Brohi, Allah Rakhio Nagour, Ghulam Mohammad Mangrio, Gul Hassan and Subhan Ali.

Mehrabpur Taluka Nazim Syed Abrar Ali Shah enquired after the health of the injured at the RHC and announced that the taluka would bear expenses free their treatment.

Mehrabpur police said that no FIR had been lodged because there was no complainant while some people from Bakra Piri had approached police picket of Halani and an FIR would be lodged soon.

RALLY: About 250 people belonging to Lund tribe who had come from different districts of the province staged a rally and a demonstration outside the press club on Sunday in support of a fellow tribesman.
