OKARA, June 11: A union council nazim, his son and their 12 accomplices were booked on Monday for attempting to kidnap the spouse of a woman councillor. Reports said that councillor Nadia Baig had moved a no-trust motion against UC No 96/8 nazim Malik Naseem Ahmed for which the June 18 has been fixed for proceedings.

To foil the recall motion, the nazim, his son Malik Tahir Khalil and their accomplices tried to kidnap Shehbaz Shaheen from the premises of the district courts complex. However, lawyers foiled their attempt.

Saddar police have registered a case against the nazim and other accused on the report of Shehbaz, the correspondent of a TV channel.
