RAWALPINDI, June 8: Deputy Secretary General of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), Liaquat Baloch on Friday supported Imran Khan for filing suit against MQM’s chief, Altaf Hussain in British court.

He expressed these views while speaking at a news conference here on Friday.

Shams-ur-Rehman Swati, Maulana Abdul Majeed Hazarvi, Maulana Abdul Jalil Naqshbandi, Hanif Chaudhry and others were present on the occasion.

 “We will continue supporting people in every case against the MQM,” Liqauat Baloch said.

 About convening of the Ulema and Mashaikh convetion, he said all preparations had been finalized to convene the convention on June 10.

He said basic purpose of the convention is to foil the designs against the sectarianism and extremism.

He said it would be helpful to promote unity and harmony among various religions.

He criticized curbs on print and electronic media adding media has played a vibrant role against the dictatorship.

He said after carnage in Karachi on May 12 now government wants to make the media slave by imposing the black laws. He said a large number of protectors of the different political parties have been arrested and Police was vexing the families of detained persons.

Liaquat Baloch said arrests could not stop them from moving towards their desired goals.
