Swindlers, pickpockets held

LAHORE, June 6: The Lower Mall police claimed on Wednesday to have arrested 25 swindlers and pick-pockets who used to loot visitors to Data Darbar and Minar-i-Pakistan.

Reports said some groups of swindlers and pick-pockets were operating at Data Darbar, Lorry Adda and Minar-i-Pakistan who used to loot people and passengers after intoxicating them.

Keeping in view the rising incidents, the city SP constituted a team, led by the Lower Mall SHO, to arrest the criminals.

The team nabbed four women Shamim Bibi, Rubina Bibi, Aasia and Asima besides 21 male pick-pockets and swindlers during different raids and registered cases against them.

The accused were handed over to the investigation wing.

SSP (operations) Aftaab Ahmed Cheema announced cash and certificates for the raiding team. — Staff Reporter
