ISLAMABAD, June 6: A couple was found murdered and their four children missing in an I-10 house in the wee hours of Wednesday. Police suspected that another person living with the family was behind the crime, which is steeped in mystery.

An identity card found in the house identified the murdered man as Mr Amjad, 41. But Nadra declared the card “fake” as was the Nikapura, Sialkot address given in it.

Police reached the crime scene after Shahzad Ahmad, an estate agent living on the first floor of the house in street 116, Sector I-10/4, informed Rescue-15 that the inmates on the ground floor were not answering knocks on their door.

The Sabzi Mandi police then broke into the house and find the two bodies lying in drawing room, covered by blood stains bed sheets. The four children and the man named Rafiq living with the family went missing.

The preliminary investigation suggested that each of them received a single bullet on their heads from close range. The bodies of the deceased were shifted to the mortuary of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences for legal process.

Neighbours said that family had moved into the house six weeks ago and was keeping to itself and not socialising with them.

But they knew that the couple had four children, Amna (8), Usman (6), Rehan (4) and a two-years-old daughter. Some of them said that Amjad had come from Sharjah, where he was involved in property business, while some of them said that he had come from Sialkot.

Police investigations revealed that the house was rented by Rafiq, the suspect missing with the children. However, the estate agent at Civil Lines, Rawalpindi, who arranged the house of a land lord Agha Noor for Rafiq had no information and details about him and the family.

The police found an address of Sialkot from the house and sent a team there to find out the whereabouts of Amjad.

The neighbours of the deceased told police that Amjad along with his wife Rani, four children and close relative Rafiq lived in the house. Some people said that Rafiq was a brother of Amjad while some said that he was a close relative.

No bullet shells were found from the house besides the murder weapon, which seems that this was a planned murder. The killer(s) before fleeing from the crime scene removed evidence and covered the bodies with sheets.

It is too early to determine the cause of death, but there was a possibility that the incident occurred due to revenge.

The character of the deceased was another mystery for the police, and his identification is yet to be ascertained, besides it was not established that he was the father of missing children or not.

The police said that two separates teams of police were sent to Sialkot and Lahore to ascertain the identification of the deceased and his whereabouts, besides trace Rafiq and the children.
