FIH coaching conference

KUALA LUMPUR, March 2: An FIH Coaching Conference penciled in for Wednesday (March 6) will discuss and evaluate the development of hockey and coaching as observed during the World Cup and other major events.

Experienced coaches Ric Charlesworth (Australia), Maurits Hendriks (Netherlands), Tayyab Ikram (Pakistan), Horst Wein (Germany), Terry Walsh (Australia) and Marc Lammers are among the presenters.

Theo Ykema, chairman of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) Development and Coaching Committee said that it would be a good learning experience for the coaches. “It provides an opportunity to discuss the development of the game from the prospective of coaching.”

Meanwhile, a meeting of the FIH coaches has been set for Tuesday (March 5) at the National Stadium, the venue for the on-going World Cup.

Tayyab Ikram, FIH coaching manager will lead the meeting that is to discuss the federation’s coaching activities.
